What’s this?

March 2013

A groundstation is a piece of hardware that stays on the ground and is a station at the same time. Amazing, huh?

It’s for controlling FPV models, Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, you name it. Just search for fpv ground station, to see how they look like.

This is a log from building my own groundstation, a bit more sophisticated one. With lots of knobs and switches and “glass cockpit” – not just a mere antenna tracker and video receiver. At the same time I’m developing software for it – XEFIS – that will also run on my FPV model and hopefully won’t crash it too quickly. Everything Linux-based.

Wish me luck! And have a look at one of my FPV compilations.
